About this space

The Terrace is an outdoor space in The New York Hall of Science, defined by a paved, tree‑lined terrace and an open-plan layout that supports flexible outdoor gatherings.

Design: The Terrace presents a paved plaza punctuated by planter boxes and mature trees that create pockets of dappled shade. The character is informal and low-rise, with scattered seating and umbrella‑covered high tables arranged for circulate-through use.

Features: The Terrace includes venue Wi‑Fi and permits own music or an external DJ subject to the venue's noise restrictions. The area is step‑free and wheelchair accessible. Accessible toilets are available in the venue. The paved surface and clear sightlines suit temporary catering, bar stations or pop‑up stalls.

Ideal for: Groups seeking a relaxed, social outdoor setting — informal standing receptions or casual networking for mixed-age groups and families.

What guests say: The space is spacious and kept clean, and it accommodates strollers and busy family groups comfortably.
