Stage 2 – Blackout Soundstage at Hubble Studio

About this space

Stage 2 at Hubble Studio is a 5,000+ sq ft blackout soundstage in Downtown Los Angeles, just outside the Arts District, with sound-treated black walls, a full-length pipe grid, 600 amps of 3-phase power, polished concrete floors, a roll-up door for drive-in load-in and on-site parking. Built for film, commercials, music videos, interviews, low-light photography and private events.

NOTE: The published rate is for photo shoots only. Filming is $320 per hour with a 12-hour minimum. A $300 sanitation fee applies to all bookings.

THE STAGE
Every wall is lined floor to ceiling in black sound blankets and the trusses and ductwork are painted black, so the room gives nothing back to camera and you control every light on set. A full-length pipe grid runs the ceiling for rigging lights, flags and overheads. The polished concrete floor is wide, level and column-free, with room for dollies, cranes, vehicles and set builds.

POWER, LOAD-IN AND PARKING
600 amps, 3-phase, with dedicated panels for production tie-in and a distro box on the floor, so a gaffer can land cable without a generator. Full-height roll-up door for drive-in load-in of vehicles and set pieces. On-site parking and overhead speakers for playback.

HAIR, MAKEUP AND CLIENT LOUNGE
A dedicated hair and makeup room with a marble counter, a three-station lit mirror, three hydraulic salon chairs, a wall monitor for the live feed from set, clothing racks, a steamer and an iron. A private VIP room gives talent and clients a TV, a mini fridge, leather seating and its own restroom.

GOOD FOR
Film and television, commercials, music videos, interviews, dark and moody fashion photography, projection and LED work, haze and atmosphere, car shoots, live streams, brand launches and private events.

Lighting and grip packages, additional stages and full-building buyouts are available on request. Hubble Studio has four stages under one roof in Downtown LA, including white cyc stages next door.
