Venue Hire at Canal Cafe Theatre

About this space

Canal Cafe Theatre is a compact fringe theatre defined by a close, cabaret-style performance environment.

Design: The interior centres on a small raised proscenium stage framed by red curtains, a black backdrop and directional stage lighting. The auditorium has low ceilings, dark painted walls and small round tables with red upholstered chairs spread across the floor.

Features: A fixed proscenium stage and stage lighting provide a ready performance area. The room includes a PA system and speakers, venue Wi‑Fi and natural daylight at times. Music may be supplied by the host or an external DJ, subject to the venue's noise restrictions.

Ideal for: Small, social groups seeking a relaxed, cabaret-style seated or mixed standing-and-seated performance setting.

What guests say: The space is warm and inviting and feels comfortable and welcoming. The upstairs theatre pairs naturally with the pub downstairs, creating an easy pre- and post-performance flow.
