About this space
We are an independent, fun, cocktail bar in East London offering private party venue hire to celebrate birthdays, leaving parties, engagements and corporate events. We’ve hosted a range of parties where you can arrange private bar hire of the whole venue or just one bar for your guests to party the night away. We will be available to assist you every step of the way to ensure your event is a success.
We are just 5 minutes walk from Aldgate East tube with close proximity to Brick Lane, Spitalfields, Shoreditch and the City. We are just 20 mins walk from London Bridge and Shoreditch train stations. We have a wood fired pizza menu available, cocktails, craft beers and wines to cater for all tastes, and an atmosphere packed with East London energy.
When hiring our basement bar for your party, you can expect the following:
- Efficient and quick communication by Kim who will be your point of contact throughout your booking.
- A friendly bar team to look after you and your guests, managed by Reggie.
- You can play your own music or bring your own DJ. We provide fully equipped DJ equipment. Alternatively, we have a DJ in our lounge bar and this music can filter down though the basement bar sound system. You can control the volume as desired.
- You can personalise the space, in regards to decorations, providing it's within specific guidelines. Decoration is not permitted in December just because we decorate for Christmas but you can bring free standing balloons and a cake.
- You can bring nibbles and finger food if you wish.
- You can have your own personalised cocktail menu at no extra cost. Info on this is provided after booking.
Overall, we work hard to ensure your party goes smoothly and we make sure you have a good time!

We have a full sound and iPod connectable sound system on both floors, two cocktail bars, heated garden, Wi-Fi, screen, experienced cocktail bartenders, friendly staff and owners, and security.
Canapés and bowl food are available for 30 guests and above. BBQ’s are available in the summer when hiring the whole venue or lounge bar exclusively. We work with only approved caterers and we are happy to provide menus on request. If you want something more casual, we have a wood fired pizza menu for you to tuck into.
We can offer Prosecco, Champagne or cocktail drink receptions for your guests arrival. Each bar is stocked full of international spirits and our bar team are on hand to produce an array of irresistible, hand-crafted cocktails that are sure to leave you grinning.
Minimum spends apply and varies depending on the day of the week. There's no hire fee or service charge.
Our venue consists of two bars and an outdoor area:

Up to 70 Guests

Seating for up to 45 guests.
Direct access to the garden.
Can be booked exclusively for 40 guests to 70 guests.
Available for hire Sunday to Thursday.

A private room with its own cocktail bar.
Fully equipped DJ booth and iPod connectable sound system.

Fully air controlled and sound proofed.

The venue is a really nice space, the barmen were brilliant and made sure everyone had a great time, the equipment at the venue meant the dj didn’t have to bring his, and the communication before the party was great - answering any questions very quickly

we had the absolute best time at Apples & Pears, throwing our friend a surprise birthday party. Big thanks to Kim who helped me along the way. Loved that we got to create a bespoke cocktail menu that was a hit with the crowd, and preorder pizza and bring our own cake and decorations. Big thanks to Mohammed and Ron who were fantastic bartenders and so fun and accommodating, they both helped make the night super fun. Thanks again we honestly had the best time!!

Great communication with the manager Kim. She was very fast to respond to queries and her team were so friendly and on hand to help on the day of our event.
Incredible staff - from Ron and Larissa at the bar, to Reggie welcoming us, to Kim’s coordination before the event. The venue itself was brilliant, as were the cocktails. Would recommend to anyone.
