About this space

Balcony is a lounge in the German Gymnasium that occupies an elevated, semi-private position above the main floor.

Design: The balcony has painted brick walls, exposed timber roof trusses and a high, vaulted ceiling that reveal the building's original structure. Brass globe lamps and dark timber flooring provide contrasting finishes that emphasise the room's period character.

Features: The balcony includes Wi‑Fi, air conditioning and abundant natural light. The area has fixed seating along its length and open sightlines across the venue's main floor.

Ideal for: Small groups seeking a relaxed, semi-private setting for informal seated or standing socialising will find this space suitable.

What sets it apart: A continuous marble-topped ledge with high stools runs the length of the balcony, creating a single, counter-style seating band.

What guests say: The space is grand and rich in historic detailing and decorative elements. The space can feel chilly when air conditioning runs high.
