About this space

The Volunteer is a traditional pub centred on an open, flexible ground-floor bar room that provides a bright, social backdrop for private bookings.

Design: The interior pairs white-painted panelling and warm hardwood floors with deep-red leather banquettes and dark timber fittings. The layout is open and low-ceilinged, punctuated by pendant lamps and framed wall panelling.

Features: A long timber bar serves as the focal point, backed by mirrored shelving and multiple draught taps. Seating includes upholstered banquettes, small round tables and high communal tables across the floor. Complimentary Wi-Fi, abundant daylight and pavement tables are available.

Ideal for: Groups seeking a relaxed, sociable setting for seated meals or casual standing receptions in a traditional pub environment.

What guests say: The venue has attentive, flexible service and a welcoming, traditional pub atmosphere. The food is regularly praised for classic dishes, though preparation consistency has varied between visits.
