About this space

Opened by Queen Victoria in 1845, this fine Hall complete with Minstrels’ Gallery, striking fresco and ceiling of beautifully worked oak is described as one of the most impressive surviving buildings of its kind in London.

By day the Great Hall operates as a dining hall for barrister members of the Inn. By evening this historic Hall transforms into the perfect setting for grand dinners for up to 280 guests or elegant receptions for up to 450 guests.

This building also boasts our adjoining Bench Rooms and an east-facing terrace with views of our private gardens, perfect for an arrival reception.

FAQ

Yes. There is only a PA suitable for speeches or background music. You are welcome to hire a band or a DJ, but they need to bring in their own sound system.

No, a band cannot be accommodated in the main hall. A band can be set up in the Crypt for the party portion of the evening.

The Old Hall accommodates a maximum of 120 in a theatre-style set-up. The alternative is the Great Hall, which seats 300.
