The food was excellent and the quantities were plenty. The service was amazing, Jane was great from the organisational side prior to the event so we had a good plan prior to arrival and on site we had several team members looking after us throughout the night. The team were exceptionally attentive with serving around food and offering drinks, we were never without! I was initially concerned about whether the music would be too distracting, however this wasn't an issue in the pods and we also had plenty of space which was excellent. We were not rushed at the end of our booking either, which meant that some team members could stay after I had left.
We did have a few tricky dietary requirements and although the majority were met, one attendee didn't have as much to eat as I would have hoped. I appreciate however, given the overall menu that we did have some tricky requirements.

About Chotto Matte

Chotto-Matte brings the energy of underground Tokyo to the streets of Soho. Located on the corner of Bateman and Frith St. Chotto-Matte brings together the best of Japanese and Peruvian cultures serving up high-quality Nikkei cuisine, colourful cocktails, and live music.

The ground floor includes an expansive cocktail lounge featuring a curved bar cut from lava stone from skilled mixologists shake up Nikkei-inspired Pisco, Sake & Japanese whisky cocktails. The bar also houses an extensive wine and spirits list with something for everyone.

When the sun shines, retractable glass walls expose the lounge to the street allowing guests to spill into Soho and take in the sights and sounds of the bustling neighbourhood. Adjacent to the bar is a raised dining area complete with 45-cover a-la-carte restaurant.

A spiral, burnt-timber staircase leads guests to the upper level which boasts an open Robata grill, sushi bar, and 155 -cover dining room. The exposed Robata grill accommodates up to 15 guests and serves smoky Japanese BBQ such as Miso-marinated chicken, Grilled Octopus, Spiced fillet of beef and seasonal vegetables straight from the grill to plate.
