About this space

Function Room in The Ship is a private pub room that preserves an 18th-century nautical interior and original timber joinery.

Design: The Function Room presents dark mahogany panelling, brass maritime fittings, stained-glass highlights and a deep red patterned carpet; low pendant lamps and warm tones produce an intimate, compact interior.

Features: The room includes a PA system and speakers and allows hosts to play their own music or bring a DJ. The space provides Wi‑Fi, natural light and level access for wheelchair users.

Ideal for: Small groups seeking an intimate, relaxed social gathering where music and conversation are central.

What sets it apart: A full-size period bar sits inside the room, providing a dedicated, self-contained service point within the hired space.

What guests say: The Function Room is characterful and quirky with nautical detailing and comfortable velvet seating. The room maintains a music level that suits conversation while keeping a lively soundtrack.
