Unique Wedding Venues Hire Guide

Have you had enough of cookie-cutter weddings and are looking for something extraordinary for your special day? Whether you’re after something endearingly quirky, wonderfully whacky or simply one of a kind, you’ll be surprised with the variety of our unique wedding venues. Dreaming of a bohemian warehouse space, lush rooftop garden or romantic riverside spot? Or perhaps you’re on the hunt for a designer loft, an atmospheric vaulted cellar or an elegant historic home. Whatever it is, we’ve got you covered. Get inspired by our cherry-picked unique wedding venues. Using our smart filters, you’ll find the perfect one in a blink of an eye.

A guide to picking a unique wedding venue in London

  • Find out whether the unique venue you like has the right wedding license. Some wedding venues are licensed just for wedding ceremonies, others can only accept wedding receptions. We have also found venues that are happy to host both the reception and the civil ceremony at the same place.

  • Make sure the wedding venue has the appropriate space and the right conditions for any activities you might be planning. For example, not all venues allow fireworks, especially not the ones in central London. Of course, check if there’s enough space for dancing, too!

  • Planning a unique celebration is more than just picking a unique wedding venue. Choosing an uncommon date (ex. during earlier hours or mid-week) might be a good idea. It also helps you save money, as some wedding venues offer an off-peak discount.

  • Think of what you have in common with your significant other. Do you share the same love for British alternative music? Choose from our unique wedding venues in Camden Town or other hip districts of London. If you’re both movie lovers, how about getting hitched in a vintage cinema? The possibilities are endless, and with Tagvenue finding the best option is as easy as 1-2-3.

Unique wedding venues in London – Tagvenue favourites:

  • Wedding with a view – Not many cities can boast a skyline as stunning as London’s. If you’re throwing your unique wedding party in the capital, then why miss the opportunity to enjoy a view to remember? This choice will leave your guests talking for months.

  • Secret gardens - Tie the knot surrounded by finches, quails, exotic fish and more than 2,000 species of tropical plants and trees, then celebrate in the adjoining Garden Suite, which has fantastic views of the city and the Barbican Lakes. All this is possible in the Barbican, a tropical oasis tucked away in the heart of the city. This is one of the most magical places to say ‘I do’ in London.
  • Industrial vibe – Forget regular wedding venues, think outside the box and pick something truly unusual. Many industrial spaces have the right space and acoustics to host wedding receptions and ceremonies. Want to customise the space? Add some creative decor to top it all off.

  • Pub weddings – If tying the knot in a less formal setting is what you’re after, a unique pub wedding is a right choice for you. Such wedding venues are usually located in very photogenic neighbourhoods, which is brilliant for your wedding photos, too! If you prefer a pint over a glass of wine, the choice is obvious.

Here at Tagvenue, we’re sure to have something that’ll charm your special guests. And the best part? It’s quick and easy to search, so you can find a unique or unusual wedding venue in a snap.

Booked Whole Venue at The Roost
We rented this for our Civil Partnership after party and it was really fabulous! Really wonderful venue, perfect size for around 100 guests and the team there are really fantastic and supportive both during the planning and on the evening itself. So nice that you can really make the venue your own and great to have some outdoor space for summer evenings. Could recommend it more highly.

Booked 1st Floor at The Elgin
Everyone and everything was absolutely perfect. Caroline and Cara made my day better than ever along with Robbie, as well. I felt calm, happy, relaxed and so incredibly impressed with the venue and the entire staff. The food was phenomenal and my guests just keep saying, "OMG the FOOD!!" I can't wait to come back and dine in again. I honestly want to plan all of our parties in the future here!

Booked Semi-Exclusive Main Bar at Lost Society (Battersea SW11)
The staff were so friendly and so attentive - particularly Shannon (? - sorry if that's the wrong name!) who helped us get set up at the start and was around for those who needed to put coats away and get drinks. Great space for a drinks party, and I loved that it was 'in the mix' of the rest of the bar, rather than private because you got a real buzz from the atmosphere. We had the most fabulous time, and loved the dancing. It was the best of both worlds - drinks and dancing!

Booked Function Room at Simmons | Temple
The best thing about this venue are the amazing cocktails, and the lovely staff - Amelie & Lia-Rose made this night so much better for me! It was my 30th birthday and they even got involved in doing the decorations! They could not have been nicer - we were so lucky to have them there! The venue is a perfect size, and quirky! We used the projection screen too! Which was brilliant. I would ABSOLUTELY have a party there again! It was perfect. Thank you!

Gavin was very pleasant to talk to and helped me put an corporate event together. The place was clean and had a nice vibe. We could use a large screen. Highlight was that Nordic bar was willing to make our custom cocktails, which everybody loved.
