Keeping in mind my overall high rating for the experience, and my positive comments, I have only very minor quibbles, but they are worth noting. A reverb/delay effect on the microphone made it hard to use for speeches. It was not clear why it could not be turned off. We opted not to use it and it was fine as the space is small enough if you can project your voice, but this is something to be aware of and check. While courtyard and footpath areas are open to the public with table service only, we did experience some minor 'incursions' into the bar area from Joe Public. To some extent this is bound to happen if parts of the venue remain available to walk-ins, so not a big issue, but it is also something to be aware of. We timed speeches so that there was no one left in the courtyard who'd wander through to exit during the speeches (courtyard closes at 10pm, but we were able to start closer to 9.30pm). However, having footpath customers wander in from the street during speeches was not great; thankfully they didn't create much of an interuption. Having said that, Adam was short-staffed due to winter illnesses so with more (experienced) staff this might have been avoided. In the end though, none of the above ended up being a major negative. It was universally thought of as having been a great evening and a very cool venue.
