Really atmospheric, intimate space. We had 45 to 50 guests which was a comfortable number for the whole bar space, which is not inclusive of the courtyard or foothpath spaces - these remain available to the public with table service instead of bar service, to give you exclusive use of the indoor bar area. More on this later, but Adam alerts you to all of this when you enquire. Acoustics were good: even with music going and 45-odd guests chatting and laughing I still found it comfortable to hear others (and I have fairly bad hearing at the best of times). Adam was very communicative and accommodating and there was enormous flexibility for what we wanted to spend on food (which was very nice) and drink. Friendly staff too. No screen or projector for a photo reel, but we brought in our own and that was fine. Plenty of food too by the end of the night. We left the venue elated at the wonderful night we'd had.
Keeping in mind my overall high rating for the experience, and my positive comments, I have only very minor quibbles, but they are worth noting. A reverb/delay effect on the microphone made it hard to use for speeches. It was not clear why it could not be turned off. We opted not to use it and it was fine as the space is small enough if you can project your voice, but this is something to be aware of and check. While courtyard and footpath areas are open to the public with table service only, we did experience some minor 'incursions' into the bar area from Joe Public. To some extent this is bound to happen if parts of the venue remain available to walk-ins, so not a big issue, but it is also something to be aware of. We timed speeches so that there was no one left in the courtyard who'd wander through to exit during the speeches (courtyard closes at 10pm, but we were able to start closer to 9.30pm). However, having footpath customers wander in from the street during speeches was not great; thankfully they didn't create much of an interuption. Having said that, Adam was short-staffed due to winter illnesses so with more (experienced) staff this might have been avoided. In the end though, none of the above ended up being a major negative. It was universally thought of as having been a great evening and a very cool venue.

21st Birthday Party · 50 guests
Bonny hosted my daughters 21st birthday party. We hired the entire venue. Adam could not have been any more helpful in setting up all the preliminary stuff from food (which was excellent) to speeches, cake, drinks, decorations. We had a call from the venue a couple of hours before the start to double check arrangements. Staff on the night were amazing, always checking in to make sure we were happy.
Would highly recommend for any function.

The courtyard at the Bonny was a fantastic pick for a Sat afternoon birthday. The space was bright, full of hanging plants and comfy for our group of 20. The food was great and reasonably priced. Finally, coordinating the event with Adam was easy and efficient. We look forward to coming back!
