About this space

The Den is a semi-private lounge in the Aviary Hotel that provides a compact, tucked-away space for conversation away from the main bar.

Design: The room has dark timber floors, textured plaster walls and a moulded ceiling that give it a moody, vintage appearance. The room contains a mix of high round tables, stools and low banquette seating arranged along a narrow footprint.

Features: The Den includes Wi‑Fi and air conditioning. The room has an in-room PA system and permits guest-supplied playlists or a brought-in DJ. The room's layout accommodates high tables and bench seating and leaves a small open area suitable for a compact dance space.

Ideal for: The space suits intimate groups seeking a relaxed, social standing reception or an informal seated lounge-style gathering.

What sets it apart: A freestanding shelving partition carves the area into an enclosed sub-space, creating an intimate pocket separated from the rest of the venue.

What guests say: The space has a relaxed, social atmosphere and a welcoming staff presence.

40th Birthday Party · 40 guests · July 2024

Fast communication during the planning process. We had a dedicated staff member for the party and a private bar.

Catered food only came out once we said we'd like it to come out. We assumed the food would start coming out when guests began arriving. Some purchased food in the interrum due to this.
