The Actors Theatre Workshop (ATW) is a historic theatre and creative space in Manhattan’s Chelsea Garden District, just a short walk from Penn Station. The venue combines the feel of a working theatre with practical spaces that can be used for events, rehearsals, meetings, and creative projects.
The building includes several flexible areas that can be used depending on the type of event. There is an intimate 60-seat black box theatre with a proscenium arch, stage lighting, and a sound system, along with two studio spaces that can host around 25–40 guests for rehearsals, workshops, or small gatherings. These rooms are often used for performances, film shoots, castings, classes, and corporate sessions.
Guests also have access to shared amenities such as a lobby area, meeting room, kitchen for catering or craft services, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a freight elevator. Tables, chairs, and whiteboards can be provided when needed. As a non-profit organization, rentals also help support ATW’s arts education programs for at-risk youth.
