About Purple Kale

The Purple Kale Kitchenworks studio is a wonderful space for small to medium size photo and video shoots--there have been many cookbooks, magazine spreads, cooking videos and interviews, and headshots taken here.

The studio is 17’ x 40’ ft, with a wall of 6-ft tall windows that offer unobstructed natural light all day. It is air-conditioned and heated. We have one of the most well-equipped studio kitchens around.

The entrance to the space is great for equipment and prop setup, make-up and dressing stations, and office work. We have a large garment rack you are welcome to use. There are two multi-stall public bathrooms around the corner, down the hall.

Neighborhood conveniences include several grocery stores, wine shops, and hardware stores, as well as great restaurants within the delivery range. Public transportation--subway and bus--is excellent. Parking in the evening and on the weekends is easy. For weekday parking, there is a paid lot 5 blocks away.

The building has a self-operating freight elevator, which we are happy to help you run. We have a hand truck and dolly for your use, too.

The building itself is quiet; home to amazing artists, collectors, and small manufacturers.
