About this space

The Tavern & Copperfield Bar is a bar in The Dickens Inn, set inside a reconstructed 18th-century timber-framed warehouse that gives the space historic character.

Design: The interior is compact and low-ceilinged, arranged around arched windows and exposed brickwork, with polished wooden floors and a mix of high and low wooden tables. The lighting is provided by pendant lamps and small wall fittings that keep sightlines narrow and the layout informal.

Features: The Tavern & Copperfield Bar operates a staffed bar serving beer, wine, cocktails and a small-plates menu, and includes high and low seating plus a first-floor balcony dining area. The space provides a PA system and speakers with own-music allowed, complimentary Wi‑Fi and wheelchair access.

Ideal for: Groups of friends or colleagues seeking a relaxed, social setting for informal seated meals or standing drinks in an intimate, historic interior.

What sets it apart: A riverside terrace provides outdoor seating with direct views across St Katherine's Dock.

What guests say: The Tavern & Copperfield Bar is charming and characterful with a warm, inviting atmosphere and attentive, friendly staff.
