About this space

Tucked away on the historic top deck of our 125-year-old Dutch barge, the Captain’s Cabin is a small but characterful private dining room, perfectly suited for intimate gatherings of up to eight guests. With original features, cosy nautical vibe, and riverside views across Hackney Wick, it offers a unique and memorable setting away from the bustle of the main restaurant.

Ideal for birthdays, family celebrations, client dinners, or special occasions, the space provides complete privacy while still enjoying the atmosphere of London’s most sustainable floating restaurant.

Our group set menu package includes a seasonal three-course dining experience, crafted by Head Chef Kayla Dimmick and her team using the finest British produce, much of it grown in our own gardens. Freshly baked bread, filtered still and sparkling water, and attentive table service are all included, with optional drinks packages or wine pairings available to make your experience even better.

The Captain’s Cabin is fully serviced, intimate, and atmospheric, a hidden gem aboard Barge East that turns private dining into something truly special, right in the heart of Hackney Wick.
