About this space

Area 140 First Bar has an industrial setup with a long metal bar, pinball machines, vibrant murals, and LED lighting. The venue also provides microphones, speakers, and televisions, supporting DJs, live music, and amplified sound.

The owner, Michael, was incredibly easy to work with and so kind. When booking he was quick to respond and easy to communicate with! On the night of my party, he was prepared and was incredibly welcoming to my party. Throughout the night he checked in to make sure we were happy and things were going well (to which the answer was always "We're having so much fun!"). The bartender, Rob, was also incredibly kind and fun. He was incredible to all my guests and added such a fun energy to the party. My friends and I have already discussed how we will be returning to Area 140 and booking it for future parties. Overall the party, atmosphere, and staff were 10/10 and I could not have asked for a better place to host my birthday.

About Area 140 First Bar

Hello! We have a welcoming and inviting space. We have a full bar and allow outside catering. Our door person has stage managed scores of shows so is able to help in any situation ON THE SPOT. We will make your experience seamless.

There are outlets all over the space, including under the bar and we have many extension cords to make sure you are properly powered.

It is pretty much tabulas rasa (blank slate) for you. Please make something beautiful! Communicate your needs and we can and will accommodate.

Besides being a great spot for filming we love to have bands and live music and events at the bar! Our backline is pretty tight with a drum kit, PA, monitors, amps and more mic stands than mics. Great for birthdays, graduations, cast parties, extra pens for filming in the East Village, bachelorette parties, karaoke, album releases, and celebrations of all kinds
