About this space

Kingsland lawns, a Garden in the Museum of the Home, is a level, grassed outdoor area defined by mature plane trees and surrounding period brick façades.

Design: The lawn is an open, level expanse punctuated by large shade trees that cast dappled light. Paved paths and sash-windowed brick buildings are visible around the perimeter.

Features: The lawn surface is level and firm and includes benches and paved walkways. The space includes step-free guest entrance, wheelchair access and accessible toilets. The outdoor setting receives full natural daylight and sits alongside the museum grounds for easy coordination with onsite services.

Ideal for: Community groups and small organisations seeking a relaxed, social outdoor setting for standing receptions or mixed seating formats.

What sets it apart: A walled herb garden adjoins the lawns, providing a planted, enclosed area that can be used as an extension of the outdoor hire space.

What guests say: The lawns are pleasant and well maintained and include benches. The setting feels local and uncrowded.
