About Kokin Restaurant
Kokin is a Japanese restaurant inside The Stratford, run by Chef Daisuke Shimoyama. He has worked in some of the top kitchens in Tokyo and London, and now brings his own take on Japanese cooking to East London. The name “Kokin” means “past and present,” and that idea runs through everything here — traditional techniques mixed with modern style.
A lot of the food is cooked over fire, using cherry and apple wood for flavour, and Binchotan charcoal for clean heat. The menu changes with the seasons and focuses on top-quality ingredients, like sustainable bluefin tuna, A5 Wagyu, and fresh local produce.
Kokin Restaurant is a Tagvenue Partner. This business has registered with Tagvenue and agreed to our venue partner standards.
