The food was splendid. Most of us had sea bass and all loved it. The starters very tasty, especially the soup and the fried squid. Nothing but positive comments about the food from any of us. Two of our party rather fussy and The Trout staff accommodated with two pizzas for them. Our waitress Melissa was wonderful. She was helpful and attentive. Duncan the Manager was there for a nice introduction to the day. 25 of us had a great time for six hours in the room, then enjoyed more drinks outside next to the river

Booked The Blue Room at St Aldates Tavern
The room was as described and was perfectly suitable for our needs. As a party of less than 30 we paid for a bar person, and he did brilliantly for us. The quality and substance of the food was excellent. It was delivered swiftly and very efficiently by the bar man and one other - and it was surprising how quickly they did this. Our guests complimented the food. We had purchased fizz for the group, and this with the room set up was done well. The room was clean pleasant and the staff appeared to try to do everything to make my birthday party go well. We really had an excellent time.
