The Purple Emerald Lounge Bar is an intimate cocktail bar in Northcote with friendly service, a relaxed vibe, and happy people.
The main room features comfy couches and lots of space for small and large groups. Music is a big part of our atmosphere and we always have nice tunes playing. It’s never too loud for a conversation either.
Step outside to our gorgeous Sundeck, decorated with fairy lights and beautiful flowers. There are lots of booths and large tables for various group sizes. The Sundeck has a retractable roof and is completely weatherproof, with gas heating if needed. There is always a huge demand for the sundeck, so bookings and reservations can be made for this area. A total capacity of 150 people.
The Main room has it's own smoking area, sound system, projector, a microphone for speeches, and it's own bar. The multimedia projector can be used to project a slideshow of your favorite photos, at no extra charge.
The Sundeck is weather proof and has gas heating. This area is extremely popular given its outdoor ambiance and is beautifully decorated with fairy lights, and tea light candles. We have a retractable roof to provide coverage from rain, or have it open to reveal the beautiful stars!
We normally do not charge a room hire fee. Certain criteria need to be met, but in most cases we are happy to assist with your event.
We have been holding functions for over 20 years, almost every weekend, and can guarantee you will have a great night. We work with all types of budgets, so have a chat with us. We are very dedicated with all our functions and always receive great reviews, feedback and recommendations. Great venue!!
The sundeck was a terrific place to host a book launch, and the staff were fantastic.
Great place, had our sons 21st in the back area of the venue. Great atmosphere and the catering was great, especially the arancini balls...10/10 ! Would highly recommend this venue for future functions.
The space was pretty good, the food was lovely, and the staff was accommodating.
The food service was slow. We booked for 2.5 hours and wanted the food to come out quickly. The picture slideshow was slow, so maybe a software would fix that.

Cancellations 60 days to 30 days in advance will receive a 50% refund.
Cancellations for events starting within 30 days are non-refundable.
Event date of a confirmed booking can be changed to another date within 12 months from the original date, at no cost.
