About Shearwater (Manhattan By Sail)
Shearwater (Manhattan By Sail) is a Tagvenue Partner. This business has registered with Tagvenue and agreed to our venue partner standards.
Shearwater (Manhattan By Sail) is a 1929 two‑masted sailing schooner that preserves classic wooden‑deck construction and period fittings across multiple open decks.
Venue highlights: The Shearwater provides multiple open decks and a bowsprit that create clear sightlines and space for mingling during a private charter. The schooner offers onboard bar service from two points supplying beer and wine. The vessel carries a professional crew who manage sailing, safety and guest service throughout private hires.
Best for: Romantic celebrations and sunset receptions, milestone family birthdays, and small private group gatherings work well aboard the schooner.
Location: North Cove Marina sits in Battery Park City and provides sheltered dockside boarding; the marina also has a cluster of restaurants and bars nearby for post-event plans.
What guests say: The schooner is immaculate and well maintained. The open decks and bowsprit create strong photo opportunities for sunset and night sails, and the layout accommodates family groups with young children.
