About Delmonico's

In 1837, just as New York was finding its feet as a financial powerhouse, the Delmonico brothers were busy opening a pastry and cigar shop that quietly kicked off America’s fine dining scene. Their little shop sold everything from bonbons to Havana cigars - and business was so good, they bought a wonky triangular lot and turned it into the country’s first upscale restaurant.

Delmonico’s brought serious flair: private dining rooms for power lunches before anyone called them that, and a wine cellar so packed it could make a sommelier weep - 1,000 bottles deep. Chef Alessandro Fellippini soon made his mark with the Delmonico Steak, laying the foundation for centuries of very satisfied carnivores.
