The Sound Cave at Indigo Soul NYC: The Sound Cave
About this space
Vintage and modern keyboards, synthesizers, amplifiers, and drums line the walls while a carefully selected array of preamps and outboard processors fill the racks of this versatile space. Our comfortable mix position features a modern MTi2 Slate Raven 2-Screen Touch Console and Epson 4K projector powered by a decked out Mac Studio running an array of complimentary peripherals such as our Apogee Symphony MKII 16x16 I/O and UAD Octo-Core, with audio monitoring on Barefoot mains, Adam near fields, and more selectable via a crystal clear Grace M905. Our microphone and DI selection covers every need from vintage holy grails to boutique favorites and studio workhorses.
The workflow and routing is designed with forethought to be fast, transparent and convenient utilizing Redco and Switchcraft audio patch bays, MOTU MIDI patchbays, Blackmagic video switchers, as well as reliable Mogami cable terminating in top of the line neutrik connectors. Featuring a Blackmagic and Newtek livestream and video recording system, everything from intimate music performances to mind-altering podcast interviews can be captured and broadcast across the world. This studio was created to inspire creatives to make their wildest imagination into reality by providing all the tools and toys to do so. We hope you join us at The Sound Cave to make great art in a space designed to create with you.

Indigo Soul NYC: The Sound Cave has been a dream of founder, Jake Tavill, for a very long time. A state-of-the-art recording studio, The Sound Cave, designed by Jake and our Director of Production Casey O’Connell, is fine tuned for both audio and video recording. Acoustically treated so that the control room is transparent and the live room sounds musical without any unwanted reflections, the space is large enough to fit our Victorian-era 1898 Steinway Model B Grand Piano, a full drum-kit and more.
