About this space

Speakeasy is a lounge in The Malthouse FiDi that provides an intimate, clubby setting defined by close seating and low lighting.

Design: The space has an industrial-chic finish: exposed brick walls and visible ducting paired with warm globe pendant lights, a backlit bottle display, dark wood tables, tufted leather sofas and high stools.

Features: The room offers mixed seating that includes tufted leather sofas, bar stools and timber tables arranged around a central counter area. Natural light and air conditioning are available. The space is wheelchair accessible and provides step-free entry and accessible toilets.

Ideal for: Friends or work groups seeking a relaxed, lounge-style drinks reception or an informal seated gathering in a conversational layout.

What sets it apart: An in-room PA system and permission to play your own music allow hosted playlists or a small DJ setup without relying on venue sound.

What guests say: The Speakeasy delivers a lively, consistent atmosphere and attentive, professional service, with bartending noted for knowledgeable drink preparation.
