About this space

The Private Bar is a Bar in Mel's Drive-In Hollywood that provides a self-contained, semi-private drinking area within the diner separate from the main dining room.

Design: The Private Bar combines mid-century diner fittings—vinyl booths, chrome trim and framed period photographs—with exposed steel beams and visible ductwork. The layout is long and linear, and the finish palette mixes burgundy leather, dark wood and patterned floor tiles.

Features: The bar includes a staffed counter serving beer, wine and cocktails, a PA system and speakers that allow hosts to play their own music, and venue Wi‑Fi. The area provides fixed booth seating and high tables, a small service area, step-free guest entrance and wheelchair access.

Ideal for: Groups seeking a relaxed, social, drink-focused gathering that mixes seated booths and standing mingling.

What sets it apart: A glazed, industrial-style roof above the bar floods the space with daylight, an uncommon feature for an interior bar.

What guests say: The Private Bar presents a classic diner atmosphere and clean, well-maintained fittings. The bar's service runs efficiently and attentively.
