Organizing a successful boat party in Chicago involves much more than just inviting a few friends over and heading out onto Lake Michigan! Here are some key factors you need to consider:

• Permits and insurance. Before you start planning, check if your event falls under the Special Events Permit. Depending on many factors, you might need to apply for it, buy insurance, and even have lifeguards present during the party!
• Weather. While Chicago generally has a nice climate in the warmer months, it can get pretty rainy from time to time! Monitor the forecast and make sure you’re prepared if the weather goes south.
• Party boat selection. Choose between private party boats and yachts for private rental based on your guest count and event style. Make sure the vessel you book has all the necessary facilities and catering!
