Your Guide to Renting Small Wedding Venues in Singapore

There are several event planners in Singapore to help you plan a thoughtful wedding ceremony or reception but if you decide to go the DIY way, here’s a short list of tips to help you out:

  • Set Your Budget
Small weddings in Singapore let you splurge on fab decor, food, or music without breaking the bank. Assign a budget for each part: venue, catering, extras, and save a bit for surprises, like rain cover for a sudden shower.
  • Plan Your Guest List
Invite only your closest crew. A tight list of 20–50 shines at a Sentosa villa or Clarke Quay loft, making your day unforgettable.
  • Make a To-Do List
Cut stress with a simple to-do list. Split tasks by time: 12 months out (book a venue), 3 weeks out (check RSVPs). Tick off done items to stay on track, from shophouse solemnizations to Marina Bay photo shoots.
  • Choose a Seating Layout
Pick a long table for warm, family-style chats, perfect for a Chinatown shophouse feast. Or go U-shaped for lively banter and space for a dance floor at a Sentosa spot. Check out our wedding seating arrangement ideas for some extra help.
  • Contact the Venue Manager. Ask the following:
  1. When can we decorate (e.g., for orchid displays)?
  2. What’s the cancellation policy?
  3. Can we use external caterers (e.g., halal)?
  4. Is there air-conditioning for Singapore’s heat?
  5. Who’s the contact during the event?
  • Set Up a Guest Lounge
Offer a chill lounge for guests to relax. A shaded nook with pandan drinks at a Dempsey Hill garden or a cool corner in Marina Bay keeps everyone comfy.

Why Choose a Small Wedding Space in Singapore?

Still on the fence? Here are the perks of a micro wedding:

Intimacy
A small wedding is all about you, your love, and your closest circle. Whether at a sleek Sentosa resort or a heritage shophouse in Chinatown, the atmosphere is personal and unique. It is something big ballrooms can’t match.

Better Value, Higher Quality
Small weddings in Singapore means you can focus on celebrating, your way. For less, you can book premium venues like rooftop spots in Clarke Quay or garden oases in Botanic Gardens. These spaces offer top-notch service, exquisite menus, and stunning backdrops.

Less Stress
Planning for a tight-knit group feels like a breeze. Hosting at a cosy Kampong Glam venue or a yacht off Sentosa lets you focus on joy, not juggling hundreds of guests. It’s about quality time, not impressing a crowd.

Halal Wedding Spaces in Singapore

Many venues in Singapore provide halal catering or are halal-certified. For example, The Masons Table offers per-person packages starting from S$60, and you can request halal menu options directly with the venue. Similarly, larger venues like Swatow City in Bukit Batok cater to Muslim weddings, although it’s best to confirm directly with the venue regarding certification.

Small Spaces for Chinese Weddings

Traditional Chinese wedding venues such as Swatow City – Bukit Batok are popular for Chinese wedding banquets, with a large seating capacity of up to 230 guests and traditional Chinese menus. Spaces like The Secret Patio in Tanjong Pagar provide an elegant atmosphere for smaller tea ceremonies or family gatherings.

nice jungle theme decoration and brightly lit room helps to bring out a joyous atmosphere. Made for good background to take lots of photos as well. Venue supervisor was kind enough to help with moving some of the decorations on the tables to make it easier for the placement of catered food.
