You'll find affordable wedding venues in various sizes, from smaller spots to larger venues; keep in mind that the type of space and your chosen layout will affect the capacity! Below you can see the typical venue sizes in Singapore, together with the standard prices in each size range, based on Tagvenue data (August 2026):

Small up to 100 guests prices average S$200 hire fee per hour
Medium between 120 and 180 guests prices average S$2500 hire fee per event
Large over 210 guests prices average S$5395 hire fee per event

These are the venues within 550 m from central Singapore, available to book on Tagvenue:

Based on Tagvenue data (as of August 2026), users looking for affordable wedding venues most commonly go for these venue types:

Event Venue prices average S$195 hire fee per hour typically between 80 and 200 guests
Hotel prices average S$3500 minimum spend per event typically between 160 and 400 guests
Ballroom prices average S$900 hire fee per hour typically between 300 and 490 guests
Function Room prices average S$3500 minimum spend per event typically between 65 and 200 guests
Restaurant prices average S$3000 minimum spend per event typically between 110 and 200 guests

It depends on the pricing model and what's included. At the S$70 per person average for affordable Singapore wedding venues, S$10,000 would cover around 143 guests at the listed rate. Treat that as a rough starting point rather than a final wedding budget: service charge, GST, drinks, décor, extended hire or other extras may reduce the number of guests your budget covers.

At some venues, yes. External catering is permitted at The Velvet Affair by Noble Affairs, The Secret Patio, Ascott Raffles Place, The Vine Ballroom and PEN & INC One-North Hall. Other venues use in-house catering, so check the catering policy before comparing prices.

Venue hire generally covers the space, while a wedding package bundles the venue with some combination of catering, furniture, AV and event support. Wedding packages in Singapore average S$68 per person, with current Tagvenue listings ranging from S$48 to S$98 per person.

Check exactly what's included before comparing a package with venue-only hire: a higher per-person price may work out better value if it replaces costs you would otherwise pay separately.

They work differently rather than simply costing less. HDB void decks and community club halls are largely self-managed spaces, so catering, furniture, AV, décor and any required permissions may need to be arranged separately. That makes a like-for-like comparison with a packaged commercial venue difficult.

These spaces aren't listed on Tagvenue, so we don't have comparable pricing data for them. If you'd prefer a venue with more of the event setup already handled, affordable wedding venues in Singapore currently include hourly-hire options from S$135 per hour.

Your Guide to Renting Affordable Wedding Venues in Singapore

Per person, per table or hire fee – which is actually cheapest?

None of them is cheapest in isolation. The figure that matters is the nett cost per guest, and Singapore venues rarely quote it that way.

Most Singapore venues quote "++", meaning the price excludes a 10% service charge and 9% GST. The Outset in Joo Seng states this explicitly on its wedding menus: its S$78 per person plated package is subject to both charges. The service charge is applied first, then GST is charged on that higher figure – so S$78 becomes S$85.80, then S$93.52 nett per guest, just under 20% above the advertised rate.

How to compare quotes properly:

  1. Multiply any "++" price by 1.199 (that is, 1.10 × 1.09) to get the nett figure.
  2. Ask whether the minimum spend counts food and drink only, or includes hire.
  3. Check what the package already covers – tables, linen, AV, coordinator and décor may be bundled, and paying separately for them elsewhere can wipe out a lower headline rate.

For example: Plume Singapore in Marina Centre lists a S$70 per person wedding package that includes exclusive room hire, buffet menu, banquet tables and chairs with linen, a 16ft stage, sound system with two cordless microphones, projector and service staff. A cheaper per-head quote that excludes hire, AV and staffing is not necessarily the cheaper wedding.

What can I book instead of a hotel ballroom in Singapore?

Hotel wedding venues in Singapore average S$100 per person (S$85–S$145). Affordable wedding venues average S$70 per person (S$48–S$88). Comparing venue types is a useful way to see where that difference comes from.

Better suited to larger guest lists

Wedding packages across Singapore average S$68 per person, and The Vine Ballroom at Metro Y Hotel near the Botanic Gardens lists a wedding buffet package from S$29 per person for a minimum of 25 guests, with halal menu options on request. It seats 150 for dining and holds 200 standing.

Which affordable wedding venues suit my guest count?

Guest count is a practical place to start narrowing a shortlist, because venue type and pricing model both shift with it.

Under 30 guests – ROM and solemnisation spaces

Micro wedding venues average S$1,800 minimum spend per event, or S$65–S$250 hire fee per hour. The VIP Room at The Secret Patio in Tanjong Pagar runs a Mini ROM package at S$1,488 total for up to 25 guests: two hours’ exclusive hire, solemnisation backdrop, table centrepiece, bride and groom chairs, AV and a coordinator.

30 to 80 guests – private venues and cafés

Small wedding venues average S$200 hire fee per hour. The Velvet Affair by Noble Affairs in Tai Seng takes 50 seated or 80 standing from S$208 hire fee per hour and allows external catering. The Secret Patio’s full venue seats 65 from S$1,300 hire fee per hour.

80 to 150 guests – cafés, event venues and function rooms

Knots Cafe and Living in Pasir Panjang seats 90 from S$400 hire fee per hour. The Masons Table near City Hall seats 150 from S$78 per person.

150 guests and above

The Outset seats 152 from S$78 per person with in-house halal-certified catering. PEN & INC One-North Hall seats 350 and holds 450 standing from S$68 per person.

Where are the cheapest areas for a wedding venue in Singapore?

Among the Singapore districts with their own Tagvenue wedding venue pages, Queenstown and One-North show the lowest average per-person rate at S$48 per person, and Orchard the highest at S$80 per person. These are the districts Tagvenue lists separately rather than a complete map of the city, so treat the table as a comparison of the areas below, not a citywide ranking.

Marina Bay is worth reading carefully: its per-person rates are among the lowest in the table, but minimum spends average S$5,500 per event – so it only works out cheaply if you are filling the room so check the minimum spend against your guest count before assuming the lower per-person rate makes it cheaper.

Can I hold the solemnisation and the reception at the same venue?

Often, yes – and holding both at one address avoids a second hire fee and a transfer between locations.

Some Singapore wedding venues can accommodate both the solemnisation and reception. For example, Knots Cafe and Living, The Masons Table and The Secret Patio indicate ceremony facilities on their Tagvenue listings.

Before booking, confirm with the venue that it can accommodate your solemnisation setup, reception and timings at the same address, and check the ceremony requirements with the Registry of Marriages. You can also browse civil ceremony venues in Singapore for suitable spaces.

Are there affordable outdoor and rooftop wedding venues in Singapore?

Yes. Rooftop wedding venues in Singapore run from S$45 to S$106 per person, or S$950 to S$6,000 minimum spend. Cheap outdoor wedding venues sit lower again at S$38 to S$60 per person.

Rooftops split into two aesthetics, and they price very differently:

  • Skyline and city-view rooftops can command higher rates for the setting and views. The Rooftop Sky Garden at Grand Park City Hall seats 120 in the Civic District from S$3,600 hire fee per afternoon.
  • Rooftop bars and restaurants may price the space through food and drink rather than a separate hire fee. Abriza Rooftop Restaurant is three minutes from Tanjong Pagar MRT, seats 170, holds 300 standing and starts at S$45 per person with a halal menu available.

Plan a wet-weather fallback in writing. For an outdoor wedding in Singapore, check whether the venue has a covered alternative and what happens to your booking if bad weather affects the event.

Do affordable wedding venues in Singapore offer halal catering?

Yes. Some affordable wedding venues in Singapore offer halal catering, but how it is provided varies, so check the arrangement before you book.

If halal certification is important for your wedding, ask the venue who prepares the food and whether the kitchen or caterer is halal-certified, and request current certification where needed. Browse Asian wedding venues in Singapore for more options.

How to bring down the cost of a wedding venue in Singapore

  • Convert every quote to nett before comparing. A S$78++ package works out at S$93.52 per guest, so an S$88 nett package is cheaper despite the higher headline figure.
  • Compare different sessions, not just different days. Some Singapore venues price by time slot. The Rooftop Sky Garden at Grand Park City Hall, for example, is priced per afternoon, while The Secret Patio offers its ROM package in set two-hour slots. Don't assume lunch is always cheaper: The Vine Ballroom at Metro Y Hotel lists the same S$29 per person buffet package for lunch and dinner, so compare the actual rates for your date.
  • Check what the hire fee or package already includes. Tables, linen, AV, staging and coordination included in the price are costs you may otherwise need to pay for separately.
  • Consider external catering where it's allowed. Venues including The Velvet Affair by Noble Affairs, The Secret Patio, Ascott Raffles Place and PEN & INC One-North Hall allow external catering, which gives you another way to compare catering costs and options.

Event was a blast, everyone loved it. We will not hesitate to book again for other events in the future.

Was looking for a place where I could hold a Marriage Lunch Reception for different groups of families and friends to come one after another, and the cover image and hourly rates caught my eye. Looking through the photos and reviews, I knew this was going to be the place to set up an Engaging and Personal Reception where we could spend more time with our guests. The team was very responsive to my queries up until the day of my event, and eventually we had a great Reception enjoyed by families and friends.

Bride and groom do not need to worry of the venue as they have the full set up including the decorations, table for the buffet, a bluetooth to connect your phone for your chosen music and easy communication! A super worryless wedding for me! Thank you Into the woods!

The Secret Patio Team was responsive 24/7 no matter what time we asked those queries. They were also proactive in suggesting a package built around value and suitable for us rather than upselling more. They had also acted as coordinators on the events even though it was not requested for. Highly recommended.

I had an excellent wedding at Into the woods on the 26th Dec. The theme was like an enchanted forest. Such a great venue for a small and intimate wedding. I would definitely recommend my family and friends for any of their future events. The Venue Coordinator, Callie/Calvin are very accommodating. Overall, it was a beautiful experience, worth the $$$, without worrying about the decorations and all. Love it!
