About Dawson
Dawson is an all-day cafe & restaurant that Kew has been waiting for.
Offering a change of pace for High Street, the new 100+ seater venue has been brought to life by two of Melbourne’s most exciting young chefs, Majid Jreige & Emily Wood.
Despite their fine dining backgrounds, the pair has focused on creating approachable, comfortable food at Dawson, with a few high-end twists.
“We’ve really tried to create a menu that reflects the sort of food we love to cook & eat. We want to get to know our diners, share the everyday moments with them,” said Majid.
Our breakfast menu runs until 4 pm so there’s plenty of time to try our dishes. Not a morning person? There’s a range of substantial salads to choose from. Fancy a pizza? Dawson has the Ferrari of pizza ovens, the Italian made Kuma Forni wood-fired pizza oven features a mechanical rotating base so every pizza is cooked to perfection.
