Inspired by hawker dining bars of SE Asia, shared eating is the focus at Rice Paper Scissors Fitzroy. The upper level, available for private hire, is great for both personal & corporate functions.

Our upper level in our Fitzroy restaurant offers a private, dedicated, function space with a capacity of 30 seated or 50 standing.

Rice Paper Scissors is modelled on the hawker dining bars of South East Asia, with a shared eating concept being the focus of what we do.

We aim to serve only the freshest ingredients, sourced organically and ethically where possible and all our sauces, pâtés and relishes are made in-house.

No. Because the room sits directly above the main dining space, DJs are not permitted upstairs.

Can a solo guitarist perform at the venue?

Yes, a solo guitarist can perform in the space, provided they do not require the use of an amp.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

No. The venue is upstairs, with quite steep stairs and no disability access or lift available, so it is not wheelchair-friendly and cannot accommodate wheelchair users comfortably and safely.
