About Cruzteca Mexican Kitchen
Cruzteca Mexican Kitchen began with deep family roots and a passion for flavor. What started in 2008 as Mellizoz Tacos—a beloved 42’ food trailer on South 1st Street in Austin—blossomed into a full-fledged restaurant when the Galindo and Winters families opened Cruzteca in the spring of 2018.
Named after the Winters twins, “Mellizoz” means fraternal twins in Spanish, and that spirit of family and heritage is present in Cruzteca today. The menu celebrates the diverse culinary traditions of Mexico and Texas, reflecting the families' origins and their love of authentic food.
