Dylan was a breeze to work with :) He was professional; helped us setup the space and was available when we needed help midway through the event with the projector. He was easygoing and organized throughout the who process. We had a great time hosting our event at Diptych, and I would recommend the space to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable venue downtown :) Thanks again!

The best venues for a Halloween party often include spaces that can be creatively transformed to fit the spooky theme of the occasion. These types include:
- Historic Mansions or Buildings: Toronto is home to several historic mansions and buildings that naturally lend themselves to a Halloween theme with their classic architecture. Make sure to reach out to these venues’ managers to make sure if decorations are allowed.
- Nightclubs and Bars: These venues, especially those with unique interiors, can be easily decorated for Halloween parties and often come with sound and lighting systems in place.
- Art Galleries and Lofts: These spaces often provide a blank canvas that can be dramatically transformed with Halloween decor and lighting for a unique party experience.
- Warehouse Spaces: These larger, industrial spaces are ideal for big Halloween parties and can be decorated extensively to create a truly immersive environment.
- Theatres: Some theatres, especially older ones, have a charm that can be very fitting for a Halloween party, and they often have stages for performances or DJ setups. Alternatively, if you feel like a Halloween horror movie marathon, theatre venues are also going to do well!
When planning a Halloween party, consider several factors to ensure a successful and memorable event:
- Theme and Decorations: Choose a theme that resonates with your guests. Maybe a classic horror, a haunted house, or a more specific theme like a famous horror movie? Remember to ensure the venue allows for the level of decorations you have in mind.
- Venue Size and Location: Select a venue that accommodates your guest list comfortably. Consider its location and accessibility for your guests, particularly if they're wearing costumes.
- Safety Measures: Ensure the venue has proper safety measures, especially if you plan to use special effects like fog machines or if there will be elaborate decorations that could pose hazards.
- Entertainment and Activities: Plan for entertainment that fits your theme, such as a DJ, live band, or horror movie screenings. Consider interactive activities like costume contests to make it even more fun!
- Catering and Beverages: Choose a venue that either offers catering services or allows outside catering. Halloween-themed food and drinks can add to the experience.
- Sound and Lighting: Check the venue's audio-visual capabilities. Effective lighting and sound are crucial for creating a spooky atmosphere.
- Budget: Have a clear budget for the venue rental, decorations, entertainment, catering, and any other expenses.
The city offers a wide range of venues, from affordable options to more luxurious spots, catering to different preferences and budgets. By keeping the event duration short, you can significantly reduce the overall cost. Another budget-friendly option is to opt for a minimum spend venue. This arrangement means you agree to spend a certain amount on food, drinks, or services at the venue, and in return, you effectively get the venue space for free. Minimum spend venues in Toronto start from C$360, with options like Party Room at G-Funk KTV offering this convenient arrangement. With such a variety of choices, finding an affordable Halloween venue in Toronto to fit your budget and event needs is absolutely feasible! (All data from Tagvenue.)

We had a wonderful time hosting an alumni social event with Seth at OEB! Staff were attentive, kind, and professional to work with, and our guests thoroughly enjoyed the catered food/drinks and venue space. OEB went above and beyond our expectations and were extremely accommodating with all our requests. Our overall experience was 10/10!
Georgia was very helpful with my son's birthday party. She thought ahead of all details and she asked and waited patiently for my answers. I was very busy during the period and, if it wasn't for Georgia the party wouldn't had been a blast as the guests said. Thank you, Georgia
The team at the Duke of Kent. and Tony, the manager, helped make my daughter's 18th surprise party a huge success. They helped with all the details and helped with a specialty cocktail. The food was terrific and everything was timed perfectly. I can't thank them enough!
Dylan was really cool and helpful. Made my gf's birthday party really memorable. He responded quick and was very professional. Asked for a security deposit and immediately gave it back after. Very trustworthy staff and amazing spot to host an event or photoshoot! Highly recommend :)
Great venue for a party, affordable/ reasonable minimum spend, and I like that it didn't have to go on one bill. I ordered snacks to go toward the minimum spend, and they were excellent. Great responsiveness from the owner, Michael, and excellent service.
The process to book TacoTaco was extremely smooth, with timely and consistent responses from the team. The space itself is charming, and larger than I had anticipated. The value of having access to AV equipment is great. The food was good as well. The employees onsite day of were also professional and accommodating.
When multiple guests ask “how did you find this place?!” throughout the night, that’s how you know you nailed it. Great size for a more intimate event - it’s also a blank canvas and can pretty much accommodate any decor. Christiane was great! Very nice and helpful. I also went with their bartender and 10/10 recommend! She was a fan fave. I would definitely have another event at The VandenBerg House :)
