Each theme offers a unique way to celebrate the milestone, and choosing the right one can make your graduation party a memorable event!

  • Hollywood Red Carpet - Create a glamorous experience where graduates feel like celebrities. Decorate with red carpets, velvet ropes, and gold stars. Guests can dress up as movie stars, and you can set up a photo booth for 'paparazzi' shots.
  • Vintage Garden Party -  For a more elegant and relaxed affair, a vintage garden theme with floral decorations, pastel colors, and vintage furniture can be enchanting. Include outdoor games and a tea party-style menu.
  • Future Is Bright - Use this optimistic theme to celebrate the graduates' bright futures. Decorate with bright colors, neon lights, and use sunglasses as party favors. Encourage guests to dress in flashy outfits.
  • Decade Party - Choose a specific decade (like the '80s or '90s) and encourage guests to dress accordingly. Decorate with items and colors popular from that era and play hit music from that time.
  • Masquerade Ball - For a touch of mystery and elegance, a masquerade ball theme can be captivating. Guests wear masks, and the decor includes rich colors like purple, gold, and black.
  • Black and White Ball - A classic and sophisticated theme where all decorations and guest attire are in black and white. It's elegant and timeless, making for a stylish celebration.

Choosing the right size venue for your graduation party in Toronto depends on a few key factors. First, consider the number of guests you expect to have. A venue should comfortably accommodate your guest list, with enough space for seating, dining, and entertainment areas. It's also important to think about the style of your event – a sit-down dinner requires more space per person than a cocktail reception. Additionally, consider any extra space needed for a dance floor, DJ booth, or special presentations. Always visit the venue beforehand, if possible, to get a feel for the space and ensure it aligns with your vision for the event. Make sure to have a look at Tagvenue’s blog post The A+ Graduation Party Checklist, to make sure you throw an unforgettable graduation event!

In Toronto, it's advisable to book a venue for the graduation party at least 3 to 6 months in advance. This timeframe is particularly crucial, as your event most likely coincides with the peak graduation season, typically from May to June, when demand for venues is at its highest. Popular spots in areas like the Entertainment District, North York, or the Distillery District get booked quickly due to their popularity. For more sought-after venues or if you have specific requirements in terms of size, location, or amenities, consider booking even earlier to ensure you secure your preferred venue. Planning ahead also gives you ample time to organize other aspects of the party, such as catering, entertainment, and decorations.

Booked Private Dining Room at CIBO King Street West

The restaurant's atmosphere was wonderful. The staff were very accommodating to allergies and additional people that weren't included in the initial number of guests. We were also able to order food that wasn't part of the set menu. The appetizers were plentiful and delicious! So was dessert! For the price, it was definitely worth it!
