About this space

Blackburn Bowls Club is a community sports club centred on its bowling greens; its defining quality is a clubhouse that opens directly onto a covered terrace and the playing greens, creating an immediate indoor–outdoor layout.

Design: The clubhouse presents practical, low-maintenance finishes including tiled and concrete floors, painted metal posts and a simple corrugated ceiling. The interior receives generous natural light through large glazing and has straightforward, functional fit-out rather than decorative detailing.

Features: The venue includes an air-conditioned clubroom and a PA/speaker system with user controls, and hosts may play their own music or bring a DJ subject to local noise restrictions. The venue provides a kitchen arranged to work with outside caterers and a staffed bar service. The venue also has step-free guest access, wheelchair access and on-site parking.

Ideal for: Community groups and social clubs seeking a relaxed, informal space that accommodates a mix of seated and standing formats.

What guests say: The club maintains a welcoming, friendly atmosphere supported by helpful staff and members. The club provides clear, prompt communications from its functions manager, flexible event arrangements and good value at the bar.
