The main level of Avant Garde Toronto is a spacious, contemporary gallery and event venue encompassing 5,000 sq. ft. With soaring ceilings, expansive windows, and clean whitewashed walls, the space provides a bright, airy setting—perfect for art exhibitions, private celebrations, corporate events, weddings, and more.
Designed with functionality in mind, the venue features a convenient loading dock for easy setup, washrooms on every floor, and complimentary on-site parking.
Unlike many venues, Avant Garde Toronto welcomes outside catering with no landmark or vendor fees, offering greater flexibility and value for your event planning.

About Avant Garde Gallery
Built to inspire, Avant Garde Toronto finds its place in a building with a rich history of supporting artistic expression. Prior to becoming Avant Garde, 218 Merton Street had been a haven for various galleries and creative spaces, that were nurturing Toronto’s vibrant arts community for years. Now, we’re absolutely honored to carry that tradition forward, and we’re thrilled to be part of this ongoing story.
We modify the gallery into an all-encompassing venue that pays tribute to creativity in all its dimensions — from contemporary art and fashion shows to community events, corporate functions, weddings, and beyond!
We stand as a Toronto’s premier independent art gallery and event space, with 13,000 sq/ft of adaptable space spread across three distinctive floors.
