Design: The interior is minimal and industrial, with high white walls, exposed ceiling structure and a concrete floor that suits exhibitions and temporary installations. The lighting mixes natural daylight from high windows with adjustable gallery fixtures.
Features: The space provides onsite Wi‑Fi, abundant natural light and a step‑free guest entrance with full wheelchair access. The open-plan floor clears for seated or standing layouts and supports projection and simple AV setups. A noise restriction applies to protect neighbouring properties.
Ideal for: Creative or community groups seeking a flexible, informal setting for mixed seated-and-standing receptions or presentation-style gatherings.
What sets it apart: An in-house PA system combined with the option to bring your own DJ gives the venue built-in sound capability for music-led uses.

MACEL House Rules
1. Respect for the Space
Guests must treat the venue, furniture, equipment, and installations with care. Any damage caused during the booking may be subject to repair or replacement costs.
2. Capacity Limit
The maximum capacity of the venue is 200 people. Guests must not exceed this limit at any time.
3. Setup and Teardown
Guests are provided with additional time before and after their booking for setup and teardown. The booked time is reserved for the event itself.
5. Garbage and Cleanliness
Guests must leave the venue in reasonable condition. All personal items, decorations, props, and equipment must be removed after the event.
6. Decorations and Installations
Temporary decorations are allowed, however:
No nails, screws, or permanent adhesives may be used on walls or surfaces without approval
8. Alcohol Policy
Alcohol may only be served with proper permits where required and must comply with Ontario regulations.
9. Ticketed Events
Ticketed events are permitted. Event organizers are responsible for ticketing, entry management, and crowd control.
10. Security Requirements
Depending on the type or size of the event, licensed security personnel may be required.
11. Insurance
Certain events may require event liability insurance. MACEL reserves the right to request proof of insurance prior to the event.
14. Smoking Policy
Smoking, vaping, and open flames are not permitted inside the venue.
15. Safety Regulations
Fire exits, walkways, and safety equipment must remain clear and accessible at all times.
