Avant Garde Gallery is such a beautiful venue! We rented out both the upper and ground level for our wedding shower and it was the perfect space. Angela and her team were such a pleasure to work with! They went above and beyond, were very responsive, accommodating, and really took care of us throughout the whole process. We cannot recommend them enough!! The space really allowed us to bring the vibe we were envisioning throughout the setup and decor - we were getting compliments all night. The gallery is super spacious, bright, clean, and like nothing else you'd find in the city. We can't imagine having our party anywhere else. Thank you so much for everything, would love to host here again and again!

Prior to becoming Avant Garde, 218 Merton Street had been a haven for various galleries and creative spaces, that were nurturing Toronto’s vibrant arts community for years. We modify the gallery into an all-encompassing venue that pays tribute to creativity in all its dimensions — from contemporary art and fashion shows to community events, corporate functions, weddings, and beyond!

We stand as a Toronto’s premier independent art gallery and event space, with 13,000 sq/ft of adaptable space spread across three distinctive floors.

No, there are no restrictions on live drumming, traditional music, singing, or call-and-response; cultural programming is welcomed.

Cancellations 60 days in advance will receive a full refund.

Cancellations 60 days to 30 days in advance will receive a 50% refund.

Cancellations for events starting within 30 days are non-refundable.
