Safety guidelines for planning an event in Adelaide, Australia during the COVID-19 period

We know it can be difficult to keep up with all the COVID-19 related regulations, especially when it comes to what kinds of events can take place and how many guests are allowed. To help you better understand, we have prepared a summary to update you on the most current safety rules that apply to venues. Keep in mind that even though most venues will follow such guidelines, we would still recommend reaching out to the venue you intend to book to find out in detail how their capacity has changed.

General venue operation and event hosting guidelines

  • No patron limit as long as 1 person per 2 sqm social distance rule maintained
  • Up to 200 people can attend private functions at licensed venues, patrons can stand while eating and consuming drinks
  • For venues with a capacity of fewer than 200 patrons, all patrons can dance at one time. If capacity is between 200 and 1,000 patrons, dancing is allowed in a designated area for up to 50 people 
  • Up to 200 people can attend a wedding or funeral. Nor more than 1 person per 2 square metres.
