For years, Dukem Ethiopian Restaurant has been a D.C. staple, earning multiple awards for its Ethiopian cuisine. From the moment guests enter Dukem from the streets of Washington, they find themselves transported back to Africa.

The walls are adorned with authentic African decorations and scented incense. Traditionally, Ethiopian food is eaten by hand at Dukem Ethiopian Restaurant. There is a very popular dish called kitfo, beef tartare that is rolled with cottage cheese, herbed butter, and Red pepper.
