Step into the 1970s at The Retro Play House, a Houston photography and content studio filled with warm colors, vintage furniture, and bold patterned backdrops. A statement speaker wall, disco balls, a pod chair, and retro props give creators a range of distinctive looks in one booking.
Style a fashion editorial, film a music video, capture birthday portraits, or create branding and social content with a nostalgic twist. Wide room scenes, character-filled seating areas, and close-up prop details offer plenty of ways to vary your shots. Browse the studio photos to plan the backdrops that fit your concept.
Located at 1609 Terry Street in Houston, The Retro Play House is available seven days a week, from 8 AM to midnight, at $100 per hour with no cleaning fee. Include your preferred date, shoot type, and full guest and crew count in your enquiry. Ask about any equipment or prop requirements before booking, and allow time within your reservation for setup and packing up.

Host rules
1. All equipment, personal belongings, and guests must remain inside an apartment at all times. Keep the front door closed.
2. Please remove shoes inside the house after loading.
3. Food/drinks are allowed in the kitchen only. Other rooms can be approved for food/drinks prior to the shoot.
4. Do not stand on or place equipment on antique furniture.
5. No pets are allowed unless approved prior to the shoot.
6. Costumes and props are available to use. Please check out with me or the site manager on the day of your shoot.
7. Rugs, mirrors, artwork, and/or curtains can be changed or moved but must have approval before the shoot and there may be a separate fee.
8. Please do not come early.
9. You have 15 min load time to bring everything from the driveway to the inside apt.
10. Large shoots must start packing up at the end 15-20 min prior to the end time.
11. If overtime is needed, please let the site manager know 1 hour prior to the end time of the shoot. We will check availability as we may need to adjust the schedule to accommodate.
12. NO SMOKING inside, outside, or on the property.
13. Do not change out light bulbs without approval. If this is approved, all light bulbs should be given to me or the site manager when switched out.
