Modern Video Podcast Set at Soda Studio

I booked this studio session to record my podcast, but the experience was frustrating and disappointing from start to finish. On the day of my booking, I only received the actual address a couple of hours before my session. This last-minute communication was unprofessional and stressful, especially since I had already left home. Around the same time, I was also told I needed to bring a hard drive—something I couldn’t do because I was already on the way. I was reassured this wouldn’t be an issue and that the files would instead be delivered to me through Dropbox. Unfortunately, I never received my recordings. Despite having a Dropbox subscription, I was unable to download the files they sent. I followed all instructions, even requested that the files be compressed to make them accessible. Still, the transfer did not fully work. I shared them with several people, and none of us were able to successfully download the recordings. At this point, I’ve paid for a service I never received. I don’t think it’s fair to be asked to pay again for compression or delivery when the original product was never provided. Beyond the technical issues, the physical condition of the studio was also concerning. The outside of the property looked neglected and unsafe, which was intimidating upon arrival. Inside, the space was extremely dark, except for the small recording area itself, which was acceptable but not enough to make up for the rest. The bathroom smelled terrible, with a strong odor that made the environment even more uncomfortable. It’s clear the property is not well-maintained or cared for. What should have been a professional experience turned into a stressful and disappointing ordeal. The lack of proactive communication, the failure to deliver my recordings, and the poor condition of the facility make it impossible for me to recommend this studio. Clients deserve timely communication, a safe and professional environment, and guaranteed access to the product they paid for—not excuses, added charges, or subpar conditions.
