About this space

Papa Gedes Bar is a small bar defined by an intimate, voodoo-inspired interior that emphasises close, late-evening socialising.

Design: The interior is compact and low-ceilinged, lit by warm, dim lamps and red candlelight that sit against dark timber finishes. The space uses banquette seating, small wooden tables and decorative arches to create a close, slightly theatrical layout.

Features: The venue has a long wooden bar counter and a mix of small tables, stools and bench-style banquettes for flexible seating. The room is air-conditioned, equipped with a PA system and speakers, allows own music, and provides step-free, wheelchair-accessible entry.

Ideal for: Small groups seeking a relaxed, social evening that makes use of informal seated areas alongside open standing space.

What sets it apart: The venue runs regular monthly comedy nights that add scheduled live performance to the bar's programme.

What guests say: The venue has a cosy, witchy aesthetic and an intimate atmosphere. The venue is served by friendly, hospitable staff who contribute to a welcoming feel.
