We believe there is something very special about enjoying a glass of bubbles, while gazing at a view that people should write songs about. Welcome to The Upper Bar – our one of a kind bar and lounge. This outdoor space with a view is the perfect place to share some small plates with great mates during the day, and at night impress any guest with our handpicked wine list or signature cocktails.

The Upper Bar at InterContinental Double Bay was the perfect venue for our launch event. The space has a premium, elevated feel with great lighting, layout, and overall atmosphere that made the night look and feel high-end. The staff were professional, accommodating, and easy to work with throughout the planning and execution of the event. Service on the night was smooth, and everything ran seamlessly. The location itself adds a lot of value; great views, great crowd energy, and an overall luxury experience that aligned perfectly with our brand. Would definitely host here again.

The Bay views
I didn’t like that we could not have music at a reasonable level in a party because there was a swimming pool in front of us. Before hiring this venue for a birthday party you should be clear about the terms and conditions. A birthday with low (or music that is hard to listen) it’s not a birthday…..

Yes, guests can organise their own music and connect to the speakers via Bluetooth.

No, live singers with guitars are not allowed because the space would still be occupied by other guests as it is non-exclusive.

You are very welcome to bring your own DJ; if AV support is required, the in-house AV supplier would be happy to provide a tailored quote. The attached Food & Beverage booklet outlines catering and beverage options with pricing.
