The room was a great size and booking the venue was extremely easy. It was set up well for the type of event and it was really well presented.
One particular member of staff was extremely rude - clearly was quite annoyed by drunken guests, telling people off and generally policing when it was not necessary. She also told a guest that if they wanted a White Russian cocktail, they would need to go downstairs to collect the cream which is totally out of order. Getting my deposit back was also a pain. Originally I was not refunded the full amount and it was not clear why. Then I was advised this was a cleaning fee (which I was not told about to start with), then this was changed to a fee for me bringing my own food (which I was already told that I was allowed to do). I did get my deposit returned after challenging this but it shouldn’t have come to this.
Amazing venue, bar staff were great and really helpful
It is a bit tricky to find
I booked the Monkey 47 room for a surprise 30th and it was perfect. The staff were great beforehand with helping me organise caterers, decor etc. They set the room up for me as I couldn’t get there early on the day. Bar staff were great, drinks were fab, everything went smoothly! Ash was super helpful with making sure everything remained a surprise! I used one of the recommended caterers (Relish) who sorted out canapés for us, which were delicious. All in all a great night!
I absolutely loved this venue for my mum’s 50th, we hired the Monkey 47 room which is beautiful and the gentleman on the bar for the night was amazing - thank you!! Every guest commented on how lovely the venue was, they were very accommodating for letting us in early to set up and providing extra tables etc. The facilities were great, lovely atmosphere, good music system, clean toilets, and the staff were also attentive in helping it stay a surprise for my mum. Wouldn’t hesitate to book another party here in the future, thank you for an unforgettable night!
My only minor complaint would be that the communication in the run up to the party could have been better. The caterers we opted for do not operate between Christmas and New Year but this wasn’t communicated to me until I asked about making a catering payment quite close to the party date, however the venue did then allow me to bring my own catering. I also arranged a visit to view the venue and waited outside half an hour for no one to turn up and meet me, this was due to staff sickness however nobody let me know. The bouncer also quizzed my mum on the door asking which private party she was attending which is not ideal when it was a surprise!
