About Mel's Drive-In 4TH & MISSION
Located in the heart of SoMa, the Mission Street Mels is situated in one of San Francisco's most popular and exciting neighborhoods. Opened in 2000, the Mission St location swiftly became the SoMa's most coveted breakfast spot, serving masses of Moscone Center visitors, Market Street tourists, and neighborhood locals.
Across the street is the AMC Metreon, a 250,000-square-foot complex filled with shopping and entertainment destinations including a 15-screen cinema and the West Coast's largest IMAX theatre. Mels Mission is adjacent to the unlimited shopping of Union Square and Market Street, and the starting point for the iconic cable car lines that run through the city at the corner of Powell and Market.
Those wishing to tap into San Francisco's rich cultural offerings won't be disappointed either, as Mel's makes a perfect stop-off after an afternoon spent exploring the Museum of Modern Art or the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. The kids can pick up one of our children's meals served in Mel's classic car before heading off to the Children's Creativity Museum or the ice-skating rink at the nearby Union Square Park during the holidays.
