About this space

The Bar in San Matteo is a compact front-room bar occupying a narrow, linear layout that channels activity along a single service axis.

Design: The interior pairs exposed brick and a dark-painted ceiling with warm brass pendant lights and arched shelving. The room's pale plaster and tall proportions emphasise a narrow plan that focuses sightlines toward the back.

Features: The Bar provides a staffed service counter and fixed stool seating along the room. The space includes a PA system and permits hosts to play their own music or bring a DJ. The room also offers air conditioning, Wi‑Fi, step-free entry and accessible toilets.

Ideal for: Groups seeking a relaxed, drink-focused gathering and informal seated conversation in an intimate front-of-house setting.

What sets it apart: A glass-enclosed wine display sits behind the service area, providing a visible cellar wall that anchors the back of the room.

What guests say: The Bar's cocktails and drinks receive frequent praise and the service is described as attentive. The space is considered cozier and more intimate than the larger dining area.
