About this space

The cuisine of Café Momentum shares a common standard: locally sourced, seasonal, farm-to-table and chef-driven. Because our concepts are built to meet the expressed interest of the community we serve, our menus are regionally-inspired – sourcing produce and ingredients from local farms and purveyors.

Our flagship location is consistently named one of the top restaurants in Dallas, with a seasonal New American menu that is inspired by the more than 20 local farms and ranches that support our mission. Our chefs and Interns take pride in curing our own charcuterie, culturing and aging our own cheeses and fermenting our own vinegars. However fancy we tend to get with our ingredients, we are still most known for our smoked fried chicken, a favorite of our regulars.

Our restaurant is equal parts dining room and classroom: While our Interns are working on providing thoughtful dishes with top-notch service, they’re also learning that they can (and will) rise to whatever level of expectation is set for them. While you’re enjoying the results of their hard work and determination, you’re also sending them a message that you believe in them. The Café Momentum experience proves that something as simple as breaking bread can change the lives of our community’s most marginalized youth.

From the restaurant to case management, operations to development, the entire Café Momentum team works together to support, train and coach our interns. We surround our interns with an ecosystem of support, providing essential tools and resources, to create real change in these young lives.
Café Momentum’s mission is to transform young lives by equipping our community’s most at-risk youth with life skills, education and employment opportunities to help them achieve their full potential.
Working alongside the Juvenile Justice Department, Café Momentum strives to teach our country’s youth that it is possible to break the cycle of incarceration and violence that many of our youth have faced. We focus on creating environments for youth, ages 15-19, where they can gain self-confidence and learn marketable skills to ensure a more successful future.
