About this space

Asian and African Gallery is a gallery in the Royal Armouries Museum that displays arms and armour from across Asia and Africa in a single museum-style exhibition space.

Design: The gallery has high ceilings, a mezzanine viewing level and wide sightlines that make objects visible from multiple positions. The interiors use neutral wall panels, polished floors and focused museum spot lighting to emphasise individual pieces.

Features: The space is equipped with a PA system and speakers, museum-grade lighting, site Wi‑Fi and air conditioning. The space allows own music and provides step-free guest access, wheelchair-accessible circulation and accessible toilets. The open floor areas and clear circulation routes support guided tours, talks or small demonstrations.

Ideal for: Groups seeking a conversational, demonstration-led museum experience or a seated talk in a museum environment.

What sets it apart: A central, life-size armoured elephant on a raised plinth provides a memorable, 360-degree focal piece for the gallery.

What guests say: The gallery presents displays clearly and includes live demonstrations that add a dynamic element to visits.
